Submitted by rekspod on Sat, 01/17/2009 - 12:14am.Scouts! A few webelos need an outing with Boy Scouts. So I volunteered myself and the Reks boys for a hike on Baldwin Loop in Wilder Ranch. Everyone is welcome. We will meet at the 7Eleven at the end of Mission St. at 1pm Sunday. It is roughly a 3-4 mile hike.
Food Drive
Submitted by rekspod on Sun, 11/09/2008 - 10:36pm.This past Saturday I got up early to see 5 Scouts head over the hill for Bear Paw training. They were led by ASM Frank Benko. I came back an hour later to head the can food drive. We had 15 scouts attend and were led by Ricky, Donny and Chris. They scoured the residences East of Erba Lane plus the housing next to Hocus Pocus park. Due to the cubscouts blanketing the rest of the SV area we had plenty of doorhangers left. We may possibly reuse them next year. A good turnout and efficiency had us finished in 2 hours.
My first weekend
Submitted by rekspod on Wed, 11/05/2008 - 10:33pm.After John McMillan passed the baton onto me, I thought about what was in-store for me. My first challenge was the PLC planning meeting. I decided to kidnap the newly elected leadership and take them to Dennys for a pre-meeting breakfast. I thought that sharing a meal would help us bond and create excitement in our new venture. 6am seemed like a good idea, but not the morning after Halloween! I had to drag all the boys out of bed and even one parent.
